WHY ARABIANS?

Arabian horses have been around for centuries and are noted for their loyalty, beauty and majestic presence. Arabians are known for being incredibly sensitive, this quality allows for the youngest of riders to be able to control and maneuver their horse. The sensitive nature of Arabians also allows for our older, more experienced riders to develop their cues and commands in a very quiet manner. This allows for our riders to develop a relationship with the horse and grow their horsemanship skills, rather than simply learning to ride. Arabians are also very intuitive and intelligent which allows for the horse to truly understand their rider’s capabilities and skill set and either rise to the occasion and help their rider grow or lay back and encourage their rider to learn. Arabians are also very patient so, when paired with a gentle and intelligent nature, they are wonderful for teaching new riders to be confident, assertive and understand the importance of communicating with their horse.

MEET THE LESSON HORSES

Presley

24 year old gray, purebred Arabian

Presley earned a national championship in Country English Pleasure, a form of Saddleseat riding. Presley is great for the smallest, most timid riders and even our more advanced riders. He has a special way of adapting to each individual rider. Presley’s favorite thing is going outside to play!

Jason

25 year old, pinto Half-Arabian

Jason excels in both hunt seat and western riding. He is crossed with an American Paint Horse, a stock type breed. Jason is wonderful for teaching our most beginning riders because he is very quiet and patient and even some of our older riders who have never ridden a horse before. Jason’s slow legged way of going makes his trot easy to sit for a very comfortable ride and great for teaching our younger riders to post the trot. Jason’s favorite thing is rolling in the mud!

Phoenixx

J.R. is loved among ALL of our students! He is a very fun and easy ride with very smooth gaits making it easy to learn how to refine equitation skills. He is our go-to guy for teaching riders how to canter! His absolute favorite time of day is feeding time, along with going outside to play!

Beyley

17 year old bay, Arabian gelding

Beyley is a hunt seat and western horse, best suited for our intermediate riders. He is great at adjusting to each rider based on their abilities and is always up for a ride outside! Beyley loves to go outside with his best pal, Mr. Super!

Mr. Super

9 year old chestnut, Arabian gelding

Mr. Super, also referred to as Super is for our more advanced riders. He is the youngest lesson horse we have ever had in our program and is so very loved by all of our riders. He is adored for his sweet personality, kind disposition and his extended trot! He loves carrots and going outside with his best pal, Beyley.

Horses change lives. They give our young people confidence and self-esteem. They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls. They give us hope.
